On 8 March 2007, a project was launched that, in terms of its significance and scale, is unique even for Expedition: EXPEDITION AROUND THE WORLD, the round-the-world expedition lasting a year.

The round-the-world trip was scheduled in legs across different continents. The first leg, from 15 May to 29 May 2007, across North America (Alaska-Canada-USA-Mexico); the second leg in September – October 2007 across South America (Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil);the third leg in January 2008 across Europe (Portugal – Spain – France – Germany – Denmark – Sweden – Finland– Russia (Murmansk); the fourth leg across Russia as part of the Expedition-Trophy car race.

The project had many aims. One of them was to find the most positive Russian influences in the world; to measure the influence of Russian culture on the culture of other countries and peoples; to make scientific and geographic discoveries; to identify Russian architectural monuments and of course to find those who preserve Russian traditions.
